PADI Assistant Instructor Course
This program makes up the first portion of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). By learning the PADI System of diver education, you will be able to provide valuable assistance and share your experience as a PADI professional.
What is required?
- Minimum age - 18 years old
- PADI Divemaster certification course (or equivalent from another training organization) with 60 or more logged dives.

What will you be learning?
By becoming a PADI Assistant Instructor, your assistance becomes much more invaluable to any PADI Instructor you are aiding as compared to a PADI Divemaster. You will be able to:
- Teach academic presentations under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor
- Evaluate Open Water Diver surface skills under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor
- Teach PADI Specialty courses like the Project AWARE Specialty course or PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course
- Conduct PADI Discover Scuba experiences
- Teach Emergency First Response after successful completion of an Emergency First Response Instructor course

- Dive Physics
- Dive Physiology
- Dive Equipment
- Dive Skills and the environment
- Decompression theory and the Recreational Dive Planner
